Euro-GASP external quality assessment (EQA) scheme for Neisseria gonorrhoeae antimicrobial susceptibility testing 2016
An EQA scheme for antimicrobial susceptibility testing of Neisseria gonorrhoeae has been available to laboratories participating in ECDC’s European Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) surveillance network since 2010. This is the second report to be published on the European N. gonorrhoeae EQA and has shown high levels of inter-laboratory comparability in the presence of differing methodologies across 25 countries. Overall concordance increased for most antimicrobials, except for azithromycin where the overall concordance decreased to the lowest level yet recorded.
