Lassa fever

Lassa fever is an acute viral illness, transmitted to humans by rodents. It occurs in West Africa, mainly in Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea. Primary transmission can be prevented by avoiding contact with Mastomys rodents, especially in regions where outbreaks occur.
