Point prevalence survey of healthcare-associated infections and antimicrobial use in European long-term care facilities. April–May 2013
To quantify the magnitude of healthcare-associated infections in long-term care facilities at the European level, ECDC provided funding for the HALT project (healthcare-associated infections in long-term care facilities), which developed a sustainable methodology – based on a repeated point prevalence survey design – to study the prevalence of healthcare-associated infections and explore antimicrobial use in long-term care facilities.
This is the second survey, which was conducted between April and May 2013.
