Invasive mosquitos colonising Europe - what can we do?
The Asian Tiger, Asian Bush and Yellow Fever mosquitos have made themselves at home in Europe throughout the last years, bringing with them some of the more exotic diseases, rarely seen in the EU before.

Zika virus disease - Annual Epidemiological Report for 2020
For 2020, nine EU/EEA countries reported 22 cases of Zika virus (ZIKV) disease, the lowest number
ever reported since the start of EU/EEA surveillance in 2016. All cases with available information (20/22) were associated with travel outside the EU/EEA. All cases with available information (7/22) were infected through mosquitoes.

Zika virus disease - Annual Epidemiological Report for 2019
For 2019, in the EU/EEA countries, 71 cases of Zika virus (ZIKV) disease were reported. Five cases of ZIKV disease were reported to have been locally-acquired, three autochthonous vector-borne cases, one case of sexual transmission and one case of non-mosquito borne transmission. 92% of cases of ZIKV disease with known importation status were from returning travellers.

Zika virus disease - Annual Epidemiological Report for 2018
In 2018, in the EU/EEA countries: 51 cases of Zika virus (ZIKV) infection were reported; no autochthonous vector-borne cases of ZIKV infection were reported; 56.8% percent of ZIKV infection in EU/EEA travellers originated from the Caribbean, 22.3% from South-East Asia, and 11.3% from the Americas; there were no reports of cases involving sexual or vertical transmission of ZIKV.

Epidemiological update: third case of locally acquired Zika virus disease in Hyères, France
On 30 October, French authorities reported a third autochthonous case of Zika virus (ZIKV) disease in Hyères city, Var department, France. The case had no travel history to Zika-endemic countries.
